TA15 Overview:
TA15 titanium alloy is Ti-6.5Al-2Zr-1Mo-1V.
The main strengthening mechanism is through solid solution strengthening of the α-stabilizing element AI.
The addition of the neutral elements Zr and the β-stabilizing elements Mo and V improves the processability.
The AI equivalent of this alloy is 6.58% and Mo equivalent is 2.46%, which is a high AI equivalent near-α type titanium alloy,
so it has both good thermal strength and weldability of α type titanium alloy and process plasticity close to that of α-β type titanium alloy.
TA15 alloy has medium room temperature and high temperature strength, good thermal stability and welding performance,
and slightly lower process plasticity than TC4.
TA15 alloy long time (3000h) working temperature up to 500 ºC, instantaneous (not more than 5min) up to 800 ºC. 450 ºC when working,
life up to 6000h. TA15 alloy is mainly manufactured below 500 ºC long time working aircraft, engine parts and welded load-bearing parts.
